Reading a team members blog post brought me back to high school! It was a blog about a video where kids were styling a kids hair into a mullet. It reminded me of when sports teams in my high school would shave their heads or make mowhawks as a sign of school/team spirt! check out the comment i made on it!

Products are everywhere! Marketing them can sometimes be difficult, but when the product is either named by a celebrity, the product is almost marketed by iteself! Not much effort needs to go into marketing a celebrity owned product. Basically a celebrity has to be called out wearing a certain thing and EVERYONE will want one. As i was browsing the internet i found a site that rates celebrity products.

So as I was browsing the internet I found a very interesting article called “What’s in a Name?” by Susan Craig. It talks about products and celebrity marketing.

“Celebrity products are nothing new. High profile celeb names are on everything from perfume to clothing to motor oil to shoes. It was only a matter of time before they’d discover food, especially the hot stuff. Salsas and hot sauces are now marketed under the names of comics and movie stars (sometimes one and the same) and sports stars. While celebrity marketing can be a gimmick for a quick buck, the folks whose pictures are on many hot food products are taking the whole business quite seriously. They know what they like, their personal taste stamps the product, and they’re out there telling everybody about it. Perhaps your favorite superstar will be next.
How does this happen? Do these people hide out in their kitchens, stirring up the old family recipes? Do food producers look around for a celebrity to match up with their product? Or is it the marketers who create these matches made in heaven?
The answers: yes, yes, and yes.”
The excerpt above is taken directly from the article. I feel that this is how products become a celebrity. The more the celebrity is used to market it, the more it becomes their own product. This was probably one of the smartest decisions ever made to do in marketing because everyone will fall in love with a product watching their favorite celebrity marketing it!

More kids for the Beckhams?
The Beckhams have been married for 9 years and have three children: Brooklyn, 8, Romero, 5, and Cruz, 3.
In an interview on the Ellen Degeneres show, David Beckham said “we’re working on it”.
Working on what? Well the Beckham’s are ready to expand their family.
Previous to this interview, Victoria, had mentioned that she wanted to get pregnant again once the spice girl tore was over.
"We're very family oriented," David said. "We always wanted a big family, which was weird because when we first got together we never even discussed how many children we wanted."
David Beckham then said, "It's worked out that we want a big family and we love kids so it's worked out perfect."
So exactly when will another Beckham be in the spotlight?

Andy Roddick is engaged!
Andy Roddick is no longer a free man! And wedding bells are in the air! On March 31, he announced his engagement to Sports Illustrated swimsuit model Brooklyn Decker, 20, via his website. Beyonce and Jay-z have finally gotten married!

Beyonce and Jay-Z have gotten married!
Beyonce Knowles, 26, and Jay-Z, 38, have been a couple since 2002. They have always kept quiet about their relationship even when they were photographed while away together.
According to People, they got married Friday evening, April 4th, 2008. A friend of Jay-Z said, “It happened earlier this evening. Jay wanted it to be a really private affair – close friends and family”.
However this shouldn’t come as such a shock. The couple was seen getting their marriage license at the village hall in Scarsdale, NY on Tuesday.
Following the very quiet and small wedding was a party at Jay-z Tribeca Apartment which included only family and close friends.

Brody Jenner now staring in his own reality TV show??
Brody Jenner, Lauren Conrad’s ex from The Hills, was overheard telling club goers that he was celebrating his new reality TV show. It is said that it is supposed to be a spin-off of the popular hit MTV reality show, The Hills. Brody’s rep says that he is in talked with MTV about details about the project but has not been confirmed yet. Frankie Delgado, Brody’s best friend, is said to also be staring in the new reality show. What do you think of this? Is this a little too much for MTV? Will you watch this?
Avril Lavigne's Clothing Line!
Avril Lavigne has a new clothing that will be debuting at Kohl's stores naionwide in july called, Abbey Dawn. She named it after the nickname her dad calls her. Her clothing line mimics her skater chic style which includes hoodies, jeans, and tees in bright colors, skull, and zebra patterns. It is fun, colorful, young, and edgy! Avril says everything is fit to be sexy and flattering.

Rihanna and Chris Brown
“We’re great friends, but we haven’t taken it to the next level”This is what Chris Brown told US Weekly back in September about Rihanna and his relationship. Well finally after months of quietly dating, they became public with their relationship! They took a trip to Jamaica in late February. On February 24th they were caught frolicking in the pool at the Hilton Kingston Jamaica hotel.
There were plenty of signs that something was going on. First Rihanna was caught making a concert appearance in Europe at one of Chris Browns concert where they did a sexy duet together. Then on February 10th, at the Grammy Awards they sported matching star tattoos. And then on February 12th they were celebrating her 20th birthday together at Les Deux in Los Angeles. A Brown source says, “He definitely likes her.”

One way celebrities get themselves out there more than they already are, are by coming out with their own clothes lines, gear, makeup, or fragrances. For example, Paris Hilton came out with her own perfume. You can buy this product anywhere online and also in many department stores. If you type "Paris Hilton Perfume" into google, thousands of links come up in which most of them are selling the product. Ashlee Finally Opens Up About That Mysterious Ring On Her Ring Finger!
Ashlee Simpson was on the Fuse the other day to promote her new album, Bittersweet World. The host questioned Ashlee about the mysterious ring that is sitting on that very important finger that everyone has been wondering about. Ashlee said that she was not engaged but it was a promise ring from her boyfriend of less than a year, Pete Wentz, from Fall Out Boy. Ashlee also said, “It just means that he hasn’t asked my dad yet”.

According to US Weekly magazine there are many young famous girls who are taking over Hollywood the old-fashioned way with dedication, hard work, and loads of talent.
# 1. Miley Cyrus – Miley Cyrus is a very talented 15 year old girl who has what most dream about. She is considered “The Real-Life Disney Princess” by US Weekly. She really does have “The Best of Both Worlds.” She is the star of her very own show, Hanna Montana, where she plays a regular teenage girl with a leading double life as a blonde haired pop star. Also being so young her father, Billy Ray Cyrus, makes sure that she has the most normal life possible. By law, 15 percent of her earnings must go in to a trust.
#2. Taylor Swift – Is an 18 year old “Country Darling”. Taylor Swift sold about 2 million copies of her self-titled album. She wrote or co wrote every song on her CD. Her next tour will be with the leading arena giants Rascal Flatts.
#3. Rihanna – Rihanna is a 19 year old “Hitmaker”. She is known for her hit single “Umbrella”, which was spent seven weeks on the top of the U.S. Charts. She has everyone turning head with her new haircut. Not only does she plan on coming out with more albums then the three she already has but would also like to start getting in to filming and developing her own business.

#6. The Cheetah Girls – Known as “The Triple Threat”: Sabrina Bryan, 23, Kiely Williams, 21, and Adrienne Bailon, 24. These three pops stars are known for their Disney Girl Group, “The Cheetah Girls”.
#7. Blake Lively – “The Gossip Queen” is 20 years old and is the star of the new WB series Gossip Girls. This hit TV show is about mean girls on Manhattan’s posh Upper East Side. Her breakthrough role was in 2005 as Bridget in The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants.

Heidi & Spencers New Ring!
Last season on The Hills, Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt got engaged. Dealing with all the wedding planning issues they started to fight a lot. Soon enough Heidi called off the wedding. I thought this would be the end of their relationship, but soon enough they were back to dating. I definitely thought that they would wait at least a year before getting engaged again considering everything they went through.
In February 4th's issue of US weekly, one of the first articles was about Heidi Montag's new ring. On January 16th, they were both spotted looking at new rings a jewelry store in West Hollywood. Instead of receiving her old engagement ring she received a 2-carat diamond ring that cost $27,000, which is more than Spencer could afford. They ended up taking out a loan to buy it.
What do you guys think...Do you think it is too soon for Heidi and Spencer to be thinking about a wedding again?

Jamie Lynn Spears
Hey guys,
So this past weekend I was in CVS and Star magazine caught my eye. The front cover said “Pregnant Jamie Lynn Giving Up Her Baby”, I just had to get it to see what this was all about. At first I was thinking, how could she give her baby away? I mean I understand that she is young but I thought she would at least keep it because her mother would always be there for her and help her take care of it.
Later that night I sat down to read the magazine. The first sentence in the article was “Jamie Lynn Spears has quietly agreed to give up the baby girl she’s carrying and let her mother, Lynne, raise the child.” Later in the article it said that Jamie Lynn was doing this so she could work on her career as an actress and singer and also still have her life as a teenager. She also said that she would not be giving her mother total control but enough to allow her to live her life.
I think that this is a very smart decision for Jamie Lynn. She is so young and was just starting to become more popular with her acting and singing career. By allowing her mom to take the front seat and care for her child, Jamie Lynn will be able to become more successful and therefore also support her child.

Heath Ledger's Death
As most of us all know Heath Ledger died January 22, 2008. I find this absolutly crazy and upseting. He was such a young and wonderful actor who was nominated for an academy award.
Us Weekly claims that he was an abuser of alcohol and drugs such as heroin, cocaine, and pills. It was also said that this all started once he and the actress Michelle Williams broke up.
Also in Us Weekly it was said that Michelle Williams tried to get him help but refused to go to rehab and beause of this she rufused to let him see their daughter matilda unless he got drug tested!
Although Ledger has been identified as a drug user, I do not believe that drugs were the actual cause of his death. I believe that he was simply over-tired from his redeye flight and was looking to catch some good sleep. The sleeping pills must not have mixed well with his body chemistry.
Does anyone else (other than Michelle Williams according to Perez Hilton's website) agree with my speculation on Ledgers cause of death? Or do you think that it was because he was administering drugs?
